Trash Pickup

Trash pickup and removal is provided by Haulin Trash. The trash removal schedule is:

  • Trash Pickup – Tuesdays & Fridays
  • Recycling Pickup – Fridays
  • Yard Waste Collection – Tuesdays

Trash will be picked up as early as 6 AM and before 6 PM on pick up days.

Junk & Furniture Removal

Construction debris is not accepted in Haulin Trash weekly trash collection service, including the weekly special pickup day. At this time this includes, inert waste (asphalt, block, brick, concrete, dirt, mud, rock, sand, sediment or soil) is not accepted.

However, Haulin Trash junk removal team will happily remove these items at an additional cost. Please call, text or email Haulin Trash office for pricing.

Recycling Guidelines

Recycling should be placed in the bins provided by Haulin Trash or similar recycling bins. Please keep these guidelines in mind of things to NOT include in your recycling:

  • Glass – Fairfax county does not offer single stream glass recycling. You may take glass to one of the glass drop off locations (the closest being the park and ride at Fox Mill)
  • Bagged Recyclables – keep them loose and free
  • Tanglers – cords, hoses, wires, etc.
  • Small/shredded paper and packaging
  • Household or car batteries (contain hazardous materials)
  • Styrofoam (crumbles in the machinery)
  • Paper towels or napkins (often soiled and too thin to recycle)
  • Cups, lids or straws (can’t be sorted)
  • Scrap metal
  • Pumps or tubes (made of multiple materials that can’t be separated)
  • Plastic wraps, pillows or bags (tangles the machinery)
  • Textiles
  • Household glass, mirrors or ceramics (can’t be remanufactured)
  • Aerosol Cans (fire hazard)
  • Food waste (contaminates clean recyclables)
  • Hazardous or medical waste
  • Receipts (can contain non-recylable layers and chemicals

Yard Waste Collection (March 1 through Dec 24)

Acceptable Yard Waste

Please Note: All bagged yard waste must be in compostable paper bags or customer owned bin. Bins must be clearly labeled “YARD DEBRIS ONLY” and should only be used for grass clippings and/or leaves. Do not use a Halin’ Trash provided bin to store yard waste.

  • Branches/brush – must be bundled using string or rope
  • Christmas Trees – Collection ends Jan 15. Do not put trees in plant bags. Do not place trees in bins.
  • Grass Clippings
  • Leaves

Not Accepted:

  • Plastic bags (or anything stored inside)
  • Inert waste – Asphalt, block, brick, concrete, dirt, mud, rock, sand, sediment or soil
  • Land Clearing Debris – Stumps, Trees, Large Amounts of Brush
