Commendations

It is a pleasure to look around and see the continuing improvements being made to the homes in our cluster. The board is pleased with the progress that has been made in the last few years, and we hope all of you are too. Thanks to all who have made such an effort to maintain and improve your homes and enhance the overall appearance of Generation Cluster. Keep up the good work!

Cluster Concerns

There have been a number of items of concern which have been addressed to the board.

Streets
There is concern about children playing in the streets, especially in Generation I. The Generation Cluster Handbook states that children are not to play in the street. We recognize that there are few other places to ride bikes, skateboards and scooters, but children must understand that they need to watch out for any vehicles using the street, and they must get out of the way. They must also be careful about running into or damaging parked vehicles. Parents please speak to your children and emphasize the importance of these issues. We ask all residents to observe the 10 mile an hour speed limit while entering and exiting the cluster to avoid any accidents and injuries. All play activities other than riding bicycles, scooters and skateboards should take place in the tot lots or other common areas.

Mailboxes
Children should NOT climb on top of the mailbox pedestals. This is dangerous and could cause injuries should someone fall off. It could also damage the mailbox stands which are not designed for the weight of several children on top.

Yard Debris
During the Cluster clean up day, it once again became apparent that some of our residents are dumping sticks, branches, dead plantings and yard waste in the wooded areas near our homes. This is against Reston rules, causes damage to the woods, and creates an unsightly mess for the cluster as a whole. Please break or cut up branches and bundle them, bag all yard waste and put it all out for our trash removal company.

Dogs
Please remember that Fairfax County Leash laws are enforced in the cluster. We have had a few complaints about dogs being off leash and running free. Please always have your dog on a leash and under control. Also, please PICK UP after your dog.
